At just 17 years old, Venkatesh Mishra is building AskLumenAI with an ambitious vision: to rethink how students, researchers and professionals learn, research and work with artificial intelligence.

Based in Bhopal, Mishra is the Founder & CEO of AskLumenAI, an AI-native learning and research platform that began with a focus on helping students and researchers access more reliable, multimodal academic assistance.

From Student Builder to Startup Founder

Venkatesh’s journey reflects a growing generation of young Indian technology entrepreneurs who are experimenting with AI while still in their formative academic years.

AskLumenAI was initially developed as a multimodal research AI platform, designed to provide academic support through different forms of interaction, including text, voice and visual explanations.

The platform’s broader vision has since expanded toward an AI-native operating system capable of helping users not only find information but also complete meaningful learning, research and productivity tasks.

Making AI More Useful for Students

AskLumenAI brings together several capabilities aimed at students and researchers, including:

• AI-powered academic reasoning
• Research assistance
• Multimodal learning
• Summaries and study materials
• Flashcard generation
• Assistance with complex assignments
• Early AI-agent capabilities
• A longer-term vision for immersive 3D/AR/VR learning

The goal is to move beyond the conventional chatbot model and create an AI environment that can understand context and assist users throughout their learning and research workflow.

Early Traction and Global Ambition

Despite starting as a young student founder, Mishra has attracted significant early interest around AskLumenAI. IssueWire reports that the platform had thousands of students on its early waitlist and that the company has been developing relationships with international innovation and incubation ecosystems.

AskLumenAI has also been associated with the UAE SOUL incubation ecosystem, giving the young founder exposure to international startup networks while continuing to build the company from India.

Building From Bhopal for a Global Audience

Mishra’s ambition extends beyond creating another educational application. His stated vision is to build an AI-native operating system from India for global users, serving people who learn, research, build and create.

His story represents a new generation of Indian technology entrepreneurs who are starting early, experimenting with emerging technologies and attempting to build products for a global market.
